Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the insertion of small needles into specific points along the body to improve bodily functions, alleviate pain and manage many health conditions. Most patients feel relaxed during treatment and some even fall asleep.

Moxibustion (or Moxa)

Moxibustion is the burning of a dried herb called Mugwort either on top of the needles or directly on the skin.  It is used to warm channels in the body, reduce pain, aid in early pregnancy, and even turn breech babies

Cupping
Cupping involves placing glass or plastic jars on the skin and removing the air inside to create suction.  Cupping is used to increase circulation, relieve pain, remove heat from the body and pull out toxins that linger in the tissue.

Tui Na and Gua Sha

Tui Na is an ancient form of Chinese massage.  Its name literally means "grasp and pull" and the methods are often combined with acupuncture treatments.

Gua Sha is a technique where the skin is scraped with a smooth-edged tool to stimulate blood flow and release toxins from the body.  Gua Sha is performed until redness appears on the skin, which may last after treatment for several hours up to several days.  The "bruise" is not painful.
